I purchased the msata/m.2 SATA model to transfer data from an mSATA drive. For this it worked wonderfully. Now the bad.The instructions included in the package are tiny and in black and white so it’s hard to read. The instructions shown on this product page is for the m.2 model and the screw holes do not correspond. And that’s the worst part... the screws. There are about 4 or 5 different types of screws and they’re all slightly different sizes, so there is a chance I may have used the wrong screw(s) for the wrong part. Are those 4 screws I used to screw the board to the case the right ones or are they intended to screw the outside of the case together? No clue because the instructions are not visible and do not differentiate the screws. Also some of the screws came in odd numbers like 3 of each. Which is weird because almost everything that needs to be mounted needs either 2 or 4 screws. Point is, while everything is well built, putting it together is not stable either because the screws aren’t right or something in the fit keeps it all from coming together smoothly.I ordered two of these adapters to recover data from client owned Microsoft Surface Pros. Once removed from the busted Surface Pros the SSDs worked flawlessly in these adapters.I did have an issue with the screw holes in the housings. Once the two halfs are assembled, the screw holes on the end farthest from the SATA connection do not precisely line up.Considered how cheap these are, I'm probably going to buy a couple more just to keep on hand. All in all they worked, looked good, and mounted easily into a generic PC case.It works, flawlessly. If you want to adapt an M.SATA or M2 SATA drive safely to an old laptop/pc this is a good solution.I was looking for a way to work quickly with msata and m2 drives; cloning, recovery, etc. The stands you use to fix the drive requires a complete disassembly every time you want to mount another drive. I might solder stands from a dead MB/laptop to make it easier for me. Again, this only affects the way I expected to work with this item, if you want it as a permanent solution it will work just fine.I had a few Msata Drives laying around and this was perfect to get some harddrive in a couple laptops i had. I will up date if any problems pop up. but working great so farBought this to make use of a samsung M.2 SSD that was lying around . Used this converter to make it a 2.5” size and connected to a MacBook Pro . Recognized and runs smooth as a OS drive .Instructions are terrible. It does what it's supposed too. Would work well as a one time install but it's kind of cumbersome if you plan on swapping drives in and out of it frequently.Good design. Easy to use.Love it
